An update on the household

So its been awhile since I was on here. Not to much has been going on.

We had a visit from Aunt Lucille and Faye from MI. We had a family get together at Linda and Gary's new house in Beverly Hills. NICE place. Everyone was there but Sabrina, she was competing with her horses at the state fair in Tampa. Of course we missed not having Uncle Ernie with us but he was there in thought and memory. We had a few good laughs over some of his old pranks he pulled.

Jonathon is reading more and more everyday. He truly amazes me. I guess with it being so long ago I don't remember EJ reading so much in kindergarten. Of course there wasn't the state test that every child has to take which they didn't have when EJ was in kindergarten. Out of 40 sight words Jonathon knows 32, not bad for first time around I think.

Jon is doing well. He is about to teach at the college for a couple of days in March. He loves to teach and loves being the "boss" at work. It is sicking that someone actually loves his job.

I am doing the same. Helping Diane plan her wedding and trying to keep her nerves together. March 14th is coming up fast. The bridal shower is this weekend, should be ALOT of fun. I think Moose is more excited about the wedding then Diane is.

OK that is a little update on our homestead. Not much going on. Till later...Love to all.....

This week at the homestead...

It has been a very quite week on the homestead this week. Jon took several days off, for hunting and just because he could, and we did nothing. We had plenty to do but didn't feel like doing any of it. We are bad I know.

Jonathon is currently laughing his head off watching "Home Alone 3". I never have heard him laugh so hard. Guess I will have to buy him the DVD so he will have it. I think we all ready have 1 and 2.

Going to take Jonathon back to the doctors tomorrow to pass the idea of high blood sugar causing his nose bleeds. Don't remember if its in my other post but TJ, a distant cousin of Jonathon's, has the same problem and they found it was high blood sugar that was causing the nose bleeds. We shall see. Another visit to the doctors. Allergy shots start this week too so that should be alot of fun.

This weather has to make up its mind. We were in the high teens 3 days ago and today we were at the park in shorts and t-shirts sweating. Now for sure we will all be sick again I am sure. Maybe the doctor will go ahead and give me something for Jonathon tomorrow since I know it will be coming.

OK off to get Jonathon off to bed and then peace and quite for mom :) Hope everyone is doing great. Until later....love to all............

The day of the hunt

Well Jon went on his first officially hunting trip with the guys from work. He GOT a pig!!!! About 50 pounds so not to bad for the first time. He froze his booty off cause he has never been hunting and didn't have the proper gear but he had fun. All the guys that went got a pig, about 6 guys. One managed to get a 250 pound hog. It is great that one of the guys family will be dressing the hog out so we don't have to worry about all that yucky stuff.

Jonathon and I had a nice day at home. We started to finally put the living room back together from the painting. Figured I needed the clothes baskets that was holding all my junk in them. Rearranging and throwing things away are always nice in my book. Jon will be happy. Pictures go on the walls tomorrow or the next day I think.

Jonathon has his first field trip on Weds. He is excited. He gets to ride a school bus which he has never been on before. They even get bag lunches from the cafeteria so that is exciting to. To be 6 again.

Fisher is in hog heaven, or should I say dog heaven, right now chewing on a steak bone he waited so patiently for after dinner. I swear this dog knows when the grill is one he is getting food off it. He is one smart dog. Pain in my ass sometimes, but is a cool dog anyways. He is a mommas dog.

Took a trip over to see Aunt Esther this past Saturday. Faye and Aunt Lucille are down from MI so we had a family get together. It was so much fun to look at the old pictures and see pictures of granny when she was a child and when she was a teenager. I miss her so much. Aunt Esther looks so much like her its like looking in a mirror at her. It is a comforting feeling. I have to make more trips over there now that I know how easy it is to get there. Straight shot I-4 to exit 114. I can do that. There is a spring there that I can't wait to take Jonathon to so he can see all the manatees. Aunt Esther said there are a lot in the spring.

OK going to try and get caught up in reading my new Nicholas Sparks book. Trying to read one book a month to get back into one of my old habits.

Tell later....Love to all.......
